  • Kapil has been known for his efforts in promoting animal rights and also through the PETA campaign to promote the adoption of homeless cats and dogs.

Kapil Sharma Twitter Controversy:

  • Kapil tweeted and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he was asked to pay to someone at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for making his office even though he was paying a large amount in taxes on 9 September 2016.
  • Sharma did not name anybody in this case, nor did he lodge a complaint with BMC. Responding to his tweet the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, asked him to furnish all information to enable them to take strict action.
  • BMC started gathering evidence against him related to illegal activities in his Oshiwara office and Goregaon The Oshiwara police also registered a case against Sharma and builder Dev Land and Housing Private Ltd (DLH). The FIR was registered by BMC’s P South Ward sub-engineer Abhay Jagtap. However, Sharma had claimed in the HC that the building was constructed as per the sanctioned plan.

Fight with Sunil Grover:

  • In March 2017, during their return flight from Melbourne. When Sunil Grover, his co-actor, tried to intervene, Sharma used some offensive words. When the controversy gathered media attention, he posted on his Facebook page to explain the events also apologizing to Grover for his actions on his Twitter Grover, however, took offense and posted a message advising Sharma to handle his fame better and respect his co-actors.
  • Subsequently, Grover, along with Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar, Sugandha Mishra quit The Kapil Sharma Show. However, Chandan Prabhakar returned after a few weeks.
